The North Shore

We drove all the way up to Grand Marais, along the shores of Lake Superior. Grand Marais is a neat little town along the coast, almost like a New England town without the east coast accents.

We had lunch at Sven and Ole's - a really good pizza that we ate at a picnic table along the coast.

That's a pretty neat map of the lake Spencer. You should come look at it.

Derek, is this where our hotel is? Can you show me where the Edmund Fitzgerald went under the water?

Chocolate Milk and Pizza ... Yummy!

It's easier to eat my pizza when I squat. Since this looks like a New England town, I rolled up my slice and ate it like a New Yorker.

Let's touch the water!

My turn!

Throwing rocks is too much fun!

Time to sit down and throw rocks!

This plane landed right over our heads, then parked about 50 feet from us.

We stopped at a lighthouse too. Here's the light and it's reflective panels - we climbed up a spiral staircase to get there.

View of Lake Superior from the lighthouse.

It's not Cozumel - it's Lake Superior!

Along the shore - the lighthouse above us!

We were up there, wait til you see the walk up the hill!

View of the stairs from the bottom!
View from the top - do that with a 23 pound baby on your waist.

One last view of the Split Rock Lighthouse - google it to read more!
